GEN5 combines the body and surface of the Legacy2 Implant, developed by Dr. Gerald Niznick in 2007, replacing that implant’s micro-threads with a 2.5 mm anodized, machined neck. GEN5’s internal conical connection combines the industry standard 45-degree lead-in bevel (Niznick US Patent 4, 960,381) with a 1.5-degree Morse Taper just below the implant’s internal hex, this creates a friction-fit with 2-piece abutments. GEN5 reduces the number of platforms from 4 with the Legacy to 2 and is color-coded with their corresponding prosthetic components. The 1 mm, 2 mm, and 2.5 mm score lines on the neck, along with the additional 1 mm added to the standard lengths, provide vertical flexibility for placement in uneven ridges and immediate extraction sockets. The smooth neck also reduces the need for bone grafting.
GEN5+ adds a 2 mm implant friction-fit Extender to the GEN5 implant. This simplifies the restorative procedure by moving the platform closer to the tissue level or even supra-gingival. The Extender flares to 4.8mmD, so that attachment of a prosthetic screw converts its flat platform to the standard Multi-Unit Abutment. The long smooth neck of the implant provides vertical flexibility relative to the crest of the ridge and the thickness of the soft tissue. By varying the depth of implant placement and selecting from 3 heights of prosthetic screws, the need for maintaining an inventory of abutments of different heights is eliminated. The smooth neck also reduces the need for bone grafting. Like NobelBiocare’s On1™ concept, a variety of straight, angled, and ASC abutments are available for attachment to the Extender.
The NizPlant is a 1-piece implant with a dual-function platform that allows it to be used to initially retain an over-denture and then be converted to a full arch fixed restoration. Its outer surface has a projection that makes it compatible with Zest Locator™ attachments. Its internal threads allow it to function as a MUA. The NizPlant will be provided with All-in-1 packaging including the NizLoc™ attachment that engages both the outer surface of the implant head and the internal chamber of the implant. It has a 45-degree, lead-in bevel, internal hex, and internal threads. A hybrid fixed full-arch restoration can be attached to the top of the NizPlant, either by attaching an MUA, attaching an Angled Screw Channel titanium sleeve, or seating a full arch zirconia bridge with screw channels created to correct for angled implants.
